Took the boy out today and shot the new musket. Had a great time though we made quite a mess. Despite not being able to hold the rifle steady with my left arm I hit the target. My son was intrigued by the "bam bam". But, he kinda lost interest because it took so much time to set up between shots. A musket is nothing like the rifles he sees on TV.

My third daughter played her best softball game ever today. She hit the ball and made it to base twice, and she scored both times. Today she had the best form I've ever seen. I really proud of her progress. I think she'll be ready for girls softball next year.

My wife and I made some great progress tonight on revising the business plan. Using my knowledge of programming we made a spreadsheet that we can tweak to look at different business scenarios. I am more impressed than ever at our prospects, and I think we have a good chance to get a loan. We were able to figure the minimum number of yearly customers needed in order to stay in business. It is a very do-able number, one in which I easily achieved when I had my first game store.

Tonight is the start of Kublacon. I'm bummed that I'm not there. But, as I said before we couldn't afford it. It eats me up because I know I have an award winning army. I just wish that I could play a game with someone. My usual opponent Amon-Ra says he's not going anywhere this summer(I think he's afraid to face my glorious Iron Warriors).

My friend Tess sent me a list of jokes today by email. They had me rolling. I plan to post a few in the next couple day. Some are rather bawdy but they are hilarious. In regards to Tess, I don't know but I think she's decided not to move here. She loves her job and is doing alot better where she lives. Though I think she still hasn't resolved the situation with her son. I am disapointed that she won't be around. It's sad because her present beau won't even let her go anywhere for a visit.

Finally a nice day. Hopefully it will help to perk my spirits.

We finally heard back form the bank about our business loan. The answer was no. Frankly, that's what I expected. A banks not about to loan you money when you really need it. So, we will progress towards the redevelopment fund. My wife talked to the director and he said we need to adjust our numbers a bit. I think he is doubtful of the product we are offering. Hell, so many shops around here sell items that I woun't buy in a million years like beanie babies. They seem to stay in business and prosper. He also doubts that we'll draw business from the nearby city. I beg to differ. We have no competition within 100 miles. He says if we get everything in this month then we'll be looking at August or September for an opening date. But, we have to find a building, which is proving harder than we expected.

I told my physical therapist about my arthrogram. She thinks I have a tear in the sheath that surrounds the shoulder joint. It would explain all my symptoms. She says that means I need surgery. Frankly, I think I'd rather live with the pain then go through surgery. My goal is to make it through life without having to get cut on. I guess I just don't trust a doctor to root around inside me. They are after all just "practicing" medicine :-)

Go figure... it snowed here yesterday. Is this May?

Today I had an arthrogram at the imaging center. The doctor had to stick a 4 inch needle into my shoulder and inject my joint with some chemical. I only felt the needle a couple times, but the sensation of it being pushed into my flesh drove me crazy. I went into shock on the table and about passed out. I have a thing about needles. Then they stuck me in the MRI machine and started the scan. It wasn't too bad, but my arm fell asleep because I had it in an awkward position. I'm just glad it's over.

My daughter played another softball game this afternoon. They won 19 to 6 and are now 6-0 in the league. The only undefeated team. My daughter hit the ball three times. Twice it made it into the outfield. I think she's starting to get the hang of batting. We have to practice more to get her to actually aim at the ball when she bats.

I'm on pins and needles this week waiting for the bank to get back to us aobut our business loan. I'm expecting rejection from them because our credit is less than perfect. But, we need a rejection letter from the bank before the redevelopment loan committee will look at our plan.

It's day two of my attempted recovery from my travels to Mordor. I had to cancel my physical therapy appointment today because I am still nauseus from the trip. Hopefully, I'll recover by tommorrow so that I can have my MRI done.

Last night I saw the movie "The Others". I was pleasantly suprised because I usually don't like horror movies. But, this one was good. I managed to figure out the jist of the plot about halfway through. But, I liked the premise. I also watched "Behind Enemy Lines" and "Spy Games". BHL was an awful movie with a hoakie ending. I know they tried to do the "here comes the cavalry" thing at the end but it was just plain stupid. Spy Games was the same way, however the bulk of the movie was quite good with a bit if intrigue and suspense. However, like most movies out of hollywood the end just went to hell. I hope we as a nation are not stupid enough to believe that the Chinese are idiot barbarians. They are a superpower like us, and a foreign commando force into their country would be an act of war. No power outage would stop that by a long shot. Going back to BHL, another thing that aggravated me was that they painted the Serbian Chirstians and brutal and evil. However, the Muslims were painted as desprite freedom fighters wanting only peace and freedom. BULLSH*T!!! The Muslims carried out the same ethnic cleansing that the Serbs tried. In fact, it was the Muslims that taught the world about ethnic cleansing. Many don't understand the fact that Muslims routinely move into adjacent Christian countries with the idea to take infidel wives and produce scores of muslim children. Then, in a generation or two they rise up against their Christian country saying their being repressed. It happened in Kosovo and it's now happening in Macedonia, Northern Greece, Georgia, and Russia among many other places.

Well, I sure got off the subject fast :-) Call me an extremist but, ignorence really bugs me, and we seem to have a surplus of it in this country.

Well, it's been a while since I updated my journal. So, this is going to be a long entry.

Last week my buddy Emmrickus showed up for a visit. It was good to see him again. We played several games and stayed up late a couple nights talking about life etc. It was really good to see him and spend time with him. I hope we can do it again in the near future. He is a kindred spirit in many respects. Though I worry alot about him. More than he knows.

On Thursday we took everybody to go see Star Wars Episode II. Well, what can I say about it... George Lucas let me down. In the past, the Star Wars movies were serious sci fi with some comic relief. This movie was a romantic comedy with sci fi overtones. Now granted, I enjoyed the movie from the standpoint that it answered alot of questions. Like who the Lar's were and how they came to be related to Anakin. It also explained about Boba Fett. But, everything else was just ridiculous. It catered to a very young audience and lost alot of the seriousness of the first three movies. Then of course there was the lightsaber duel involving the "Gremlin from Hell"

On Saturday my daughter played against the best softball team in the league, and it was one of the most exciting games I've seen yet. Our team just simply fell apart and could not catch a ball to save their lives. At one point the girls were 7 points ahead. Then in one inning the opposing team scored 10 runs. Then they struck out our team in quick succession. It came down to final inning when our third baseman made a double play and raised the moral of the team. On their last at bat they tied the score and then won in sudden death innings. I firmly believe that the constant cheering and encouragement by the adults kept our team alive. Now they remain the only undefeated team in the league with a 5-0 record. However, the coach says that may change in the tournament next month.

Last night I let myself be talked into taking Emmrickus home to Mordor. About halfway there I started regretting the decision to take him just because the road over there is so crappy. To top it off, when I got there I tried calling my honey several times and there was no answer. So, I got worried and decided to head right back. I made it 50 miles down the road before I had to pull over to sleep. Then another 60 miles in a stopped at a rest area and ended up barfing after walking in the bathroom. Someone had defiled it rather thoroughly. Finally, at about 7 this morning I made it home and fell sleep for most of the day. I was so car sick I could barely move. Ends up, nothing was wrong. My wife was so soundly asleep she didn't hear the phone. DOH!!!
