Hedonism

I'm sure the above title will catch a host of attention. Rest assured you have been lured and deceived by its scandalous implications. It is the current topic of my philosophy class, and oddly enough the first thing to come to mind in selecting a title for this entry.

School and life is going well. I am still quite engaged by all my classes, and I am pulling an "A" in all but one... that one being math.

Don't get me wrong, I am not failing, I am a solid "C" student in the class. But, I am struggling. Its not that the content is difficult, I understand what we are doing. Its just I am distracted in the class and find it hard to concentrate. Mostly its from immature people who distrupt the lessons. I will muster through, but I despise being an adult man having to deal with childish disrespect.

I managed to finally get ahold of a counselor at Chico state to get my major changed. From Art History to History with a minor in Philosophy. Ends up my initial contact person retired in December due to health issues.

My oldest daughter is doing well these days. She is struggling with all the grown up issues surrounding motherhood and shouldering them quite well. I am very proud of her, and I feel like I have my beloved daughter back. Thanks be unto God above for that.

So, going back to the question of hedonism and Philosophy, Today I learned about a philosopher named called Epicurus. I must say I feel a strong affinity for the way he approaches life, perhaps thats my problem. I'll talk more about him in a future post
