No I am not dead

6 months without an entry. Shame on me!!

Life is good. But hot. Evern in the mountains we are sweltering. Almost 100 degrees. Now I know that those people living in the valleys and deserts would say "lucky you". But I would say to them that we are unaccustomed to this kind of heat and most of us don't have air conditioning.

Of course, we do have cool mountain streams fed from melting glaciers. Eat your heart out!!

Living with my oldest daughter of late is like sitting in a room with an unexploded bomb. All is peaceful and quiet. Maybe too quiet. We keep expecting a flareup. I think in truth she is being good because she wants her coming 16th birthday to be special. I am scared to see what she will be like afterwards.

I am so looking forward to school starting up. I think all the rest of the kids are ready to go back as well.

So, I am on the market for a job. Paintball biz is not too good so I am going to cut back a bit and work for a paycheck for a while. Don't know how long its gonna take to find something because I am being a bit picky. I've had too many jobs that I just settled for in the past and had to suffer for it.

I am working diligently, however slowly, on improving our home. It starts with a complete remodel of the main bathroom. I enjoy the work but I am worried about making a costly mistake. So I am taking my time and thinking everything through.

Lastly, I have been following closely the war in Lebanon. At first I felt tremendous pity on the Israelis and supported their right to defend themselves. However, as it drags on and I see the Israelis maliciously targeting civilians I feel a deep sense of sadness for the Lebanese. In my heart I wish I could go there and help somehow.
