Of all the things I cannot tolerate in this world, dishonesty is the top of the list. Anyone who has known me, or been a reader of this journal knows that I have had such a bad reaction, in the past, to dishonesty in any form. It hurts my heart, down to my very soul to have someone be untruthful or false towards me.
So why do I, at nearly 40 years of age, still have to deal with this kind of behavior out of my so called friends? I try hard to be as honest with people as I can. Yet, such a courtesy is not extended to me. I get used.
It's my own fault really, I know the people in my life that are users, that are fair weather friends. Yet, I keep them around anyway. I "allow" them to hurt me in my very soul because I continue to want to believe that there is something redeemable in them.
But, I need to change this way of thinking. I need to let them go, to not buy the lies that they are selling. I need to let them wallow in their own misery and to seek a happy life away from their rot.
